Always start screws in the middle and work your way out. Clamps or couple screws to hold in place while you align the sheet then jump to the middle removing the outside screw.

This revived lots of memories of when I did my Seafarer Viking 17 in 2005. I separated the deck and went from the inside but pretty well did what you did with the transom sandwiching mat between 18mm and 12mm plywood with pre-drilled screws and clamps. I pre-coated the mating surfaces with thinned resin the day before and could not believe how much it absorbed. I did it all by myself and would have loved a helper and looked much easier with two of you! The finished transom was bloody heavy to wrestle in and out! 18 years later you could hang an elephant off my transom - still solid as a rock. You did a great job lads - well done.

Did you get that salt water from sea or made it at home? Thank for show us the simpl, but practical method.

Also, a good tip is to coat the timber with resin alone 2-3 times (letting it setup between coats) until the timber stops sucking in resin. Only then should you lay glass, otherwise the timber will suck the resin out of the chop making it go dry.

Poor bugger. You've been through so much with this boat. Im also rebuilding my boat since I dont trust "professionals". They almost all cut corners. Hope she turns out as good as you hoped in the end bud
